DESCRIPTION

Roasted Oolong Tea (Tie Guan Yin) is located in Anxi County of Fujian province, China, known for its rich tea culture and ideal growing conditions for tea plants. It combines the aroma of both the tea leaves, typically with a complex aroma of smokiness, caramel and floral notes. The oolong tea clearly visible after the leaves unfurl, providing visual pleasure. The tea soup is clear and bright with a rich and mellow taste, accompanied by slight sweetness and refreshing sensation. Tea leaves usually have strong resilience to multiple infusions, allowing them to be steeped several times without losing their flavor.

FEATURES

Stem-included Tie Guan Yin is a more traditional processing method for Tie Guan Yin tea, where the tea leaves are kept with their stems. Compared to the more common stemless Tie Guan Yin, it has the following characteristics:

  • Appearance: The tea leaves are thicker, with noticeable and longer stems, giving them a more natural look. The color is usually dark green or greenish brown, appearing more rustic and unpretentious.
  • Flavor Profile: The stems contain tea polysaccharides and lignin, which enhance the sweetness and smoothness of the tea.
  • Nutritional Content:
  1. Tea polysaccharides help lower blood sugar and boost immunity.
  2. Cellulose promotes digestion and improves intestinal movement.
  3. Lignin provides antioxidant benefits and supports overall health.

BREWING

Use water that is around 90-95℃ to avoid burning the leaves and to bring out the best flavors. Then, use about 5g of tea leaves per 150ml of water, let it steep for about 1-2 minutes for the first infusion, and gradually increase the time for subsequent infusions. It can be steeped for 6 times or more.
