INTRODUCTION
Zhangping Narcissus Tea, also known as Zhangping Shui Xian Tea, is a type of oolong tea that originates from Zhangping City in Fujian Province, China. It is named after the local variety of narcissus tea tree used to produce this tea.
Zhangping Narcissus Tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, specifically the Shui Xian cultivar. The tea leaves are hand-picked, carefully processed, and undergo a specific fermentation and oxidation process to create a unique flavor profile.
FEATURES
This tea is known for its floral fragrance and smooth, mellow taste. It has a rich and complex flavor, often described as having notes of orchid. The tea leaves are typically rolled into tight, twisted shapes that unfurl during brewing. The clear, amber-colored tea soup tastes pure and sweet with an elegant floral aroma that smells like orchid or osmanthus.
Zhangping Narcissus Tea is a very mild and healthy oolong tea that is gentle on the stomach. You won't feel uncomfortable even if you drink a lot of it, and you can even enjoy it at night without affecting your sleep. It is suitable for people of all ages, and children also love this oolong tea. Of course, this may not apply to particularly sensitive individual.
In 2022, the traditional tea processing techniques of Narcissus Tea was added to UNESCO list of world intangible cultural heritage.
