DESCRIPTION
Roasted Oolong Tea (Tie Guan Yin) is located in Anxi County of Fujian province, China, known for its rich tea culture and ideal growing conditions for tea plants. It combines the aroma of both the tea leaves, typically with a complex aroma of smokiness, caramel and floral notes. The oolong tea clearly visible after the leaves unfurl, providing visual pleasure. The tea soup is clear and bright with a rich and mellow taste, accompanied by slight sweetness and refreshing sensation. Tea leaves usually have strong resilience to multiple infusions, allowing them to be steeped several times without losing their flavor.
Flavor: The roasting enhances the richness of the tea, providing a full-bodied and robust flavor. Despite its strong flavor profile, the tea often has a mellow sweetness that balances the roasted notes. You may detect hints of dried fruit, spices, and even a slight floral undertone.
BREWING
Use water that is around 90-95℃ to avoid burning the leaves and to bring out the best flavors. Then, use about 5g of tea leaves per 150ml of water, let it steep for about 1-2 minutes for the first infusion, and gradually increase the time for subsequent infusions. It can be steeped for 6 times or more.
